Naval Museum

Naval Museum – Port Promenade, Donostia-San Sebastian

In the port of San Sebastian we can see a beautiful tower house of the 18th century that became the seat of a Consulate, and that today is the Naval Museum of the city. This beautiful building at the foot of Urgull Mountain accommodate two temporary exhibitions relating to the sea and its relationship with mankind, as well as workshops and minor exhibitions as well as a specialized library.

Those who are interested in naval history should not miss the opportunity to get to know this museum, whose contents are constantly renewed with the most diverse themes. From historical issues such as the influence of Basque ports on American independence, or others of an anthropological nature such as the role of women in seafaring life.

Being a small museum you can visit in less than an hour and a half, although a passionate one can be spent many more inside, and it is perfect to see in an express visit.
