The first one we are going to detail is about the Amelia Restaurant, this restaurant is located in the Hotel Villa Favorita, in the area of the Concha Bay.
In this restaurant you can enjoy the creativity embodied in a tasting menu. It manages to create a wonderful harmony between seasonal products and the marvellous technique in the kitchen. The average price of the menu is 160 euros.
Mugaritz
Mugaritz is another of San Sebastian’s most famous restaurants, founded by chef Andoni Luis Aduriz, considered one of the most respected chefs in gastronomy today. Mugaritz plays between the fine line of traditional and advanced cuisine. Its innovative style has made it one of the most visited places in Basque cuisine.
This top-of-the-range restaurant is located in a natural area between Astigarraga and Rentería, a rural place that seeks an escape from the hectic day-to-day life of the city, in a cosy farmhouse among hundred-year-old oak trees.
The Mugaritz menu is made up of more than 20 dishes that vary depending on the season. The tasting menu costs approximately 220 euros.

Arzak
First of all, the Arzak restaurant, which is not only recognised by the Michelin Guide, but is also among the 50 best restaurants in the world.
This restaurant was built in 1897 by Juan Mari Arzak’s grandparents, although in its beginnings it was not a restaurant as it is today, but rather it functioned as a wine cellar and tavern.
Elena Arzak, the fourth generation of this restaurant, was awarded as the best female chef in the world. This restaurant is characterised by its creative cuisine, without forgetting the traditional, and by its constant evolution.
The Arzak restaurant has two main menus. One of them is a tasting menu priced at approximately 240 euros, and the other is an à la carte menu with an appetizer, starter, main course and dessert.
Akelarre
Secondly, we find the Akelarre restaurant. This restaurant is located in a marvellous spot overlooking the sea.
Since 2017, Akelarre is more than a restaurant with 3 Michelin stars as it goes beyond, and seeks to offer a complete experience to its customers by opening a luxury hotel with spa.
This restaurant has three different menus, a more traditional menu and the other two more innovative ideas, so that customers are completely satisfied as they enjoy the gastronomy in every way.

Martin Berasategui’s restaurant
On the other hand, let’s talk about Martin Berasategui’s restaurant, established in the heart of the Donostia’s lungs, it is one of those places that must be visited. Chef Berasategui has 12 Michelin stars and is the chef with the most Michelin stars in Spain. Although it is true that his own restaurant, which bears his name, has been awarded 3 Michelin stars.
His fame goes beyond Spain or the Basque Country, as in 2019 he was considered Chef of the year 2019 by the magazine TAPAS MAGAZINE.
