Local tour guides at Go Local San Sebastian

Go Local San Sebastian was created with the aim of offering visitors the chance to feel like a local and live unforgettable experiences in our city.

Dare to go off the ‘official circuit’ with one of our themed tours by electric bike or on foot, through which you can discover places that you can only discover in the company of a local guide.

The different neighbourhoods with their peculiarities, our favourite pintxos beyond the Old Town, the villages and natural spaces that surround us… Our guided tours are designed for everyone, always with the aim that you have fun getting to know the city, and that you live it, enjoy it and make the most of it, just as we locals do every day.

We are part of a network of brands, including Go Local. Our goal is to promote Donostia-San Sebastián in a responsible manner and from the perspective of local guides. Each brand is therefore dedicated to a more specific objective. If you would like to find out about all the tours we offer, Go Local is the place for you.

You will find electric bike and walking tours, as well as information about different guided tours. If you want to focus on our electric bike tours or rent a bike, visit Bike Rental . If you want to focus on walking tours and find out what walking tours we offer every day, visit Free Walking Tour San Sebastián

Iñigo Ansa

Full name: Iñigo Ansa Rodríguez

How long have you been in Go Local: Longest stable relationship (2014 foundation).

Level of donostiarrismo: Pro ñoñostiarra.

Favourite Basque word: Maitia (sweetheart)

What they say about me...

“We loved it, lots of information, lots of history, Iñigo was very friendly and pleasant. Best of all, you could really tell that the guide loved his city, that passion is transmitted and we now see San Sebastian with different eyes.”

Alain Larraia

Full name: Alain Larraya Las Heras

How long have you been in Go Local: Since 2014.

Level of donostiarrismo: Not much, as I’m actually from Oiartzun.

Favourite Basque word: Txorimalo (scarecrow)

What they say about me...

“Getting to know Donosti is already something wonderful, but when it is explained to you with such detail and affection as Alain, our guide, did, you can’t help but fall in love with the city. Thank you for your professionalism and your Basque lessons”.

Hegoi Iparraguirre

Full name: Hegoi Iparraguirre Tapia

How long have you been in Go Local: Since we opened the office in Sarriegi square, in 2016!

Level of donostiarrismo: Not much, in the end I’m from the “nicest” town in Gipuzkoa, Lasarte. Although I have been fascinated by Donosti since childhood.

Favourite Basque word: Muxutruk, I love that “for free” is said “in exchange for a kiss”.

What they say about me...

“Hegoi was the tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, and very aware of all participants.”

Pelayo Lasa

Full name: Completely full? Pelayo Francisco Andrés Lasa Hulin. Better just Pelayo…

How long have you been in Go Local: Since 2018, almost nothing.

Level of donostiarrismo: According to my friends, 95%. All my father’s family have been from here for generations, but I was born abroad.

Favourite Basque word: Bihotza, which means ‘heart’, but translates as ‘two sounds’ or ‘two voices’.

What they say about me...

“My husband and I totally enjoyed our tour of the Old City with Pelayo. His English is excellent, and he has an engaging manner, with a deep historical knowledge of San Sebastian and Spain. In 2 1/2 hours, while guiding us through highlights of the Old City, he told us about the local food, restaurants and farmers, and the history and culture of the Basque region and San Sebastian. He offered suggestions of other things to do and see in the area, and answered our myriad questions. We always try to take walking tours in every city we visit, and have taken them in many cities around the world. This was one of the best, and we highly recommend it.”

Nerea Guiral

Full name: Nerea Guiral Diez

How long have you been with Go Local: Since 2023.

Level of donostiarrismo: I know the Old Town and the city centre like the back of my hand, but the rest is a bit patchy, as I’m from Urnieta, a place about 20 minutes away.

Favourite Basque word: Ortzimuga (horizon).

My favorite tours:

Essential San Sebastian Tour

Colten Murphy

Full name: Colten Jon Murphy Arrasate

How long have you been in Go Local: Since 2023.

Level of donostiarrismo: Having lived in the city for five years, I feel very much at home here. Even so, I was born and raised in Pennsylvania (USA) until I was 19, and when I spent my summers in the Basque Country, I used to stay in my mother’s village, Mutriku.

Favourite Basque word: Goxo means ‘sweet’, but also ‘gentle’ in another context.

What they say about me...

Such an amazing tour, learnt so much about San Sebastián and learning from a local made it even better! Our guide Colten was knowledgable, friendly and engaging! Our group threw question after question his way and he always had an excellent response!
