Sometimes, it is hard to choose among the huge variety of bars and restaurants that Donosti enjoys. But, if you ask me, there are some that are a safe bet for a nice meal. One of those is La Bodega Donostiarra, a veteran establishment founded in 1928 that, although it has lost the charm that the old bar had back in the day after a recent remodeling, it is still authentic.

Why do I consider La bodega Donostiarra a safe bet? Well, because of its delicious instant made omelettes, the refreshing tomato salads and the crown jewel: the “completo”. A perfect combination of some of the most important pillars of the local gastronomy: a small sandwich of tuna, piparrak (small green pepper) and anchovies. Simple, tasty and a dish that never lets you down. And it is not just me who thinks that way, as reaching the counter is sometimes an herculean task, as there are always locals waiting to order.

Other than that, the daily dish costs around 9, is a generous ration, and it also includes a drink and dessert. they also have an open kitchen from half past 9 in the morning and it only closes at midnight. So, whenever you go, you can order something to eat.
